Research of internal force and displacement of steel beam when forming plastic hinge imposed by repeatedly changed load
Abstract
The paper presents method and results of calculation of internal force and displacement of beam when forming plastic hinge. In the process of yielding section, the stiffness of section is changed. The stiffness of section depends on part of the section that has not been yielded. Apply the finite element method to create stiffness matrix for beam element that has sections at both ends will be formed plastic hinge. Using the elastic-plastic model to calculate the load increase or load decrease process. Compare the results of the consecutive plastic hinge method with the direct method to comment on displacement, force and the retribution internal force when forming plastic hinge.
