Tóm tắt

The architecture of the Champa towers in the 11th century can be regarded as part of Chanh Lo artistic style. The towers were mostly built with bricks on square site plans. The towers are located along rivers or not too far from rivers. They were built on the sites with higher ground levels and not close to residential areas. Some of them still exist today, such as Binh Lam tower, Ponagar tower, Nhan tower and My Son K tower. So far, most of the Cham towers are classified as national heritage monuments, however there are still so many problems with the conservation. The towers have been reinforced against degradation. But we should minimize the unexpected effects of the conservation work on the towers and try - at the same time - to conserve the heritage as much as possible and make it last as longer as possible. In addition, it is necessary to maintain the religious culture of the Champa people in these towers.

Keywords: Champa tower; 11th century; conservation; protection against degradation; culture.
